Fellows, I´m very greatfull to have learned a lot about digital fine art printing from you guys on the piezo list and on this list here. Without your generous attitude to share your experiences, I never came where I am now, maybe I had given up the whole thing caused by diappointing experiences in the beginning of my attempts. When this list was established, I asked myself how I could contribute a bit. After having learned that a couple of list members favour German Fine Art papers, but had some difficulties to get special informations caused by the language barrier I offered to modarate some questions and informations. I can´t guarantee that everything I tell is "the truth" though I try my best to get true informations. But I´m neither a paper specialist, nor am I a chemist., so I can´t check what Hahnemuhle or Schoellershammer poeple tell me. I´m no photograph, I´m a cardiologist, I don´t earn my living with paper testing. I can buy the paper I prefer myself. So I´m not forced to tell anything about printing-qualities of papers what is not my personal impression, which is subjective and may change over time. In the moment I favour the H. papers (for portfolio printing), though they are amongst the most expensive. I reported on Schoellershammer papers too, which are the strongest competitors to H. in the German market. I got the impression, that their here called "Watercolor rough" paper (seemes to be Velvet in US) is very near to Photo Rag, I ordered a package, but I haven´t got it yet to try more sheets (I had only two sheets from a sample pack - printing without profile). If anyone has got the impression, that my view is distorted, let me know online or offline. Thanks for your help and thanks for listening. Bernd
