The Corey workflow, though designed for Hextone MIS inks, seems to be working well on my 980 using Quadtone inks (original inkset). I'm printing onto Epson Heavyweight and Archival Matte, and it doesn't seem to matter which of his levels I load (the Concorde Rag or the Somerset Enhanced), the results are the same. I'm having to fine tune a little with a curve, but considering my setup is so far removed from what Carl had in mind I'm more than happy. I would be keen to hear from anyone who is also using the Corey method with Quads, whether you are happy or otherwise. http://www.inksupply.com/index.cfm?source=html/ workflow_corey.html http://www.galleryprint.com/workflow.html By the way, the 980 is not exactly state of the art for black and white printing, but I'm of humble means, living in Tokyo, and trying to track down a refurbished 1160 that could be shipped to me at a reasonable price - ie, no more than the price of the printer! - was a hapless task. Epson printers in Japan have different model numbers, and sometimes the differences are much more than skin deep. I have tried a few Quad workflows designed for the 1160, though they were all unsatisfying, with prints that didn't just need fine-tuning, they were way off. Is there a fundamental difference between the way 980 and the 1160 print? (Pardon my ignorance..) Richard Hawking
