I've used MIS color dye inks for years - first in a Canon S9000 and in an Epson 1430. The Canon had lots of problems and I'm not sure I could pin them on MIS. The 1430 never has any clogging issues. An issue you may see is that, due to the fact the printer cannot read the non-Epson cartridges, you can run a cartridge dry. This does not seem to hurt the printer but will require a lot of purging of the cartridge, with the suction syringe, and printing of purge pages. Once the cartridge is fully cleared it will usually work fine. Be sure to check all your cartridges anytime one needs to be refilled.
