RE: [Digital BW] Ilford Mono Silk

Platine with the Jon Cone warm neutral ink set is my favorite combination.

One does need to use the gloss optimizer.

I recently profiled Canson's Platine and was thrilled with the increased
gamut over Ilford's Silk. I prefer the finish too. What do you think of it
Ernst?

Be aware that Ilford Imaging is in insolvency and the Mono Silk will
disappear from the market. There are good alternatives with similar
whiteness, for example the Innova IFA29.

This weekend thanks to Jean Verrept from Belgium I could add the 4
qualities Calumet Museum range to SpectrumViz. The also Alpha Cellulose
based Calumet Brilliant Museum Silver Gloss White 300 gsm is as cool as
the Mono Silk but has a higher white reflection than the Mono. Not
counting the different texture it comes close to Hahnemühle FineArt
Pearl 285gsm. Permajet Fibre Base Photo Art Pearl 290gsm belongs to the
same class.
I would expect a wider dynamic range from these papers than possible
with the Mono. Of course that depends on the Dmax possible too.
