Digital BW, The Print

I previously posted a problem with the CIS on my C88+ where all carts show empty.  They were working a few weeks ago, but not now.  I went to the MIS site to just order a new one (I have a big print job that needs to be done in 21 days) but it looks like they no longer offer a CIS for the C88 printers.  It looks like MIS no longer offers chips for the C88 carts either.  They also seem to be out of Eboni bulk ink in all sizes, so I may get shut down on printing anyway, but I’ll do as many as my current ink supply will do.

Does anyone have good experience with a CIS from another source for the C88?  Or do I need to be looking at a newer Epson model?  If a new model, do any of the current printers use the same cartridges as the C88, such that I might be able to use my current refillable carts (I use them in a second C88) with new chips?  

All of my printing is B&W using the MIS EZ inks, which have been adequate for my purposes for many years, so I have no experience with more elaborate printer/ink systems.  Any advice that can get me printing again quickly will be appreciated.
