The new credit card which I activated just yesterday, having made just one transaction, was hacked. Someone in a hotel in Brazil is having fun on my account.
Sure I am going to trust online transactions! That is two accounts hacked in two weeks!
So, what insurance is a credit card transaction for automatic payments when the card company shuts down the account because that account is hacked? Depend on doing business that way. I was told it would be two weeks before I will be getting a new card to use with my business.
Since I made just that one transaction with this iPad, there is something which alerted the hackers of this new credit card account that came from either this iPad, or the company which I made the purchase.
Fun in electronic payments! Open accounts, and paying statements by check is the safest way to do business. Other then paying with money orders.

Well Ben,
Looks like some one is after you at a personal
level.. 2 cards in two weeks sounds like an inside job ... So I have no
clue who your card provider is nor how you use your card to process
transactions.
Buy the way are you aware that if you store your CC
info on your computer and it's hooked up to the internet and you don't have a
functional fire wall an industrious hacker can get into your computer from
anywhere in the world.. But if their using your 3 digit code... then you have an
issue .. most likely the place that you bought your iPad from has been hacked or
an employee took the card number and sold it..... happens all the
time..
The CC outfit I deal with kills the card with
fraudulent activity but we talk on the phone and I / we go over each
transaction.. I approve them or not right on the spot.. I'm not liable for any
fraudulent activity on my card.. I am immediately issued a new card which
they over night to me.. and the world moves forward.. I was breached a year ago
when someone got into Wal-Mart's records.. They bought several thousand in
electronics down in Texas..( Long way from me) My card company has a
computerized system to pick up on odd activity.. So I get occasional phone calls
the day of a transaction prior to their paying them. So they don't pay.. It's an
incontinence but it works...As far as your fear of Adobe.. your a big boy but to
date I haven't heard anyone was actually compromised credit card wise.... you
see many places that store this info also encrypt it so if you get it you can't
make sense out of it. Adobe is one of those companies..
So the bottom line is to use Credit Cards or not..
I do.. In my life they work quite well and they sure make things easier... but
it's up to us generally to pay attention to what is going on and who were
dealing with. I have a small service business here also and accept credit
cards.. I have a secure system and nothing is stored on an rig hooked to the
internet.. I've been using it for 15 years and so far so good..
