Digital BW, The Print

I have just entered the digital age with a Nikon 1 V1 and Epson Stylus 1500w.  Up until a few years ago I was using a Mamiya RB 67 and Voigtlander Bessa, and printing B&W in the bathroom.  I'd like to start printing B&W on this printer.  Has anyone experience of this?  I believe the 1500 is the same as the 1430 available in the US, but am not certain on this.  I'm interested in either the MIS or Piezography sets.  These both seem to work with the 1430 at least.  I presume I'll also need to get Quadtone RIP and some edition of Photoshop.  It seems that Photoshop may also be essential to work with QTR.  Any ideas if Capture NX2 (a Nikon product) would be an alternative?  I've looked at a couple of posts mentioning the 1430 and using 1400 support through QTR unfortunately it does seem to be a different language to the one I use.
