Digital BW, The Print

I've had my 4880 parked with Paul's base installed for about a year.
Every month or so I run a cleaning cycle.  The Carbon 6 cartridges,
which are about 1/2 full, have been sitting on a shelf.  I'd like to
get the printer up-and-running again.  Do you have any tips regarding
this?  Off-hand, it seems like I could:  A.  try agitating the
cartridges over a couple of days, prime and install, or B. Drain the
cartridges, rinse them out with RODI water, fill with ink, prime and
re-install.  The cartridges are of the clear, funnel fill-able
variety.
