You can try using Silverfast. They have a setting for dark, dense negatives in their HDR Studio processing software. There is a beta version of the newest upgrade that you can download and try for free: http://www.silverfast.com/show/silverfast8-hdr/en.html It works for me and I will buy it when the official version is released.
