I don't know why we get different results.  I used glycerol from the
Chemistry Store + distilled water.    The room the base is stored in is my
2nd story office, which is heated and air-conditioned like the rest of the
house.  There are two windows.  I don't know if the mixed ink in the
cartridges was affected.  As soon as I saw the mold in the clear base
solution, I took all of the cartridges out of the printer and installed
cartridges with storage solution till I can afford to mess with it again,
which might be quite awhile.
