A parcel I received in September from MIS had a ‘UK Border Agency’ receipt affixed which stated as follows:

“Goods purchase and imported into the EU with a value over £18 (for VAT purposes) and over £135 (for import duty purposes)… are subject to customs charges”  There are some exceptions such as tobacco products and alcohol.

I was told that if the value of less than £18 is observed not only is the consignment not liable to tax nor handling charges but it is less likely to be delayed in clearance.

Not using this system for buying inks I reckon I saved 50% as against buying from Tom van de Wakker at Refill Ink B.V.  I emailed him and told him so but had no response.  

I reckon I would save even more by keeping the value of orders from MIS below£18/=.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
