greetings DW-8000 USERS..

2011-01-01 by Royce

(Sorry I accidentally deleted this message from jamesreno@... - Royce)

I love this synth. I've only had it for about 8 months, but
i'm in love with that filter! One question though.... How
can I program my Bcr2000 MIDI rotary controller to control
the dw's parameters when the DW does not send out midi
parameter data?

Is there a way around this?

Any help would be great!

Check out the Yahoo BC2000 group.
I wrote a preset for the DW6000 and a few have written DW8k ones (which are a bit easier, strangely)

All the best

Greetings !

Is there a way that the dw can send midi parameter data OUT, so that I can program my MIDI hardware controller to program it from?

You can use midiox to view all data being sent out of any midi device.  A good tool to see whats going on...

Thanks for that joe, however the dw does not output it's parameter data.  I tested it.

If you are talking about using the LEARN function on the BC2000, then even if the DW would output parameter sysex it is of limited use except for the buttons on the BC2000.

The BC2000 can be much more extensively programmed with an PC editor and you can have the knobs and buttons working the DW in real time (even the sliders if you have a BCF2000).

A lot of this work has already been done for you and it is available for free on the Yahoo BC2000 group.
