OK so i started out life as a trombone player....

My DW8000 sits atop my roland RD-150 , 88 keys but no organ voice
so I use my DW8000 mostly for the organ ish # 28 patch & for a fat
split bass

the korg boots up on default 11 patch from there how do I plug in a
programmed patch? what is the very first step does the very first
line DCO 1 mean what is that where is that Can you save your
patch or do you have to punch all those lines?

I'll have a go at this even though I don't own one of these fine
machines. DW-8000 owners please respond if the following
instructions can be improved. The "Rezrov" and "Euroharp"
patches are the only ones applicable for your machine. In the Group
Files section is the DW8000 manual called dw8kmanual-small.pdf. Get
familiar with it. All the programmed sounds can be saved to tape as
a backup.

Audition all the patches in your machine and find one that you like
the least. Look at my post of the "Rezrov" patch and, following the
instructions in the manual, change the parameters of the patch you
like least to the ones for "Rezrov". Do you like the sound of
Rezrov better than the existing patch? If you do, write "Rezrov" to
memory over the old patch. If you don't, leave the old patch as
is. Do the same thing with the "Euroharp" patch.

JD,
First, I suggest you visit the "Files" section and download (maybe
even print) a copy of the DW8Kmanuel.pdf . If you read the section
on "Creating Sounds" you'll realize you are about to open up a new
world that's been sitting in front of you this whole time and never
knew it. The sounds you can get from this old synth are remarkable.
Understand this is 20+ year old technology and not quite as easy as
looking on an LCD screen for "strings" or "harmonica" but programing
is not difficult. What might be difficult is saving that very cool
sound that you discover. There are programs available on e-bay and
other sources (including one in the files section) that allow you to
save through MIDI to your PC. If this is not do-able, you might want
to resort to the old tape drive method (again, see the manual). I
have a pdf copy of the manual if you have trouble downloading but
it's about 15 Gig. Good luck. I hope you find your way.
