How to use DW 8000 Angel City Turbo Board?

2005-10-11 by David Swaddell

HI

I found a DW 8000 with an Angel City Turbo at a used instrument store. But I can't quite
get the hang of programming the turbo. Users at Harmony Central wrote that a few
keystokes would do the job.

I got it to switch over twice, hearing different sounds, but I could not remember the
keystroke combination. It reverted to the original patches when I started trying out the
sounds with bank lock on.

When I press Program and Parameter simultaneously, the red LEDs go to C and a
parameter number, eg. C 26. If I press the bank button twice I the red LEDs change from a
decimal lock to Lo Ad. I get it - Load! But what does the "C" mean?

Does anyone know how to switch/program to the turbo mode?

When you turn the DW 8000 off, are the turbo patches retained for the the next time it is
turned on?

There is a large sticker from Angel City with yellow letters giving the parameter
descriptions, eg. parameter 18 selects "B" sounds from values 11 to 88, etc. I noticed that
the Turbo parameters use numbers that are not program parameters written on the
keyboard.

If I can verify that the Turbo board works, especially for keyboard splits, etc., I'll buy it.

Thanks for your help.

David
