hello to group from new member

ello DW8000 group members,

I just bought this Korg on Ebay and was searching the
web for info and tips when I found this group. If
anyone knows where I can download a manual, please let
me know. I also see that it's possible to upload new
voice patches (sysex files). Anyone familiar with
this and can recommend a straight forward method?

the manual is in the "files" section of this group -- check it out.

Congratulations for finding this group! Look to the left in your browser and you can also
find the "Files" link, where you'll find the manual in PDF format. Inside the manual you'll
find straightforward methods of loading new patches.

Thanks klosman,

Wasn't familiar with this group arrangement, very
cool!

How about load new banks of sounds? I'm especially
interested in good string and brass sounds.

Very coo! I see it. Do you use a tape recorder of
take the output from your sound card to upload the
sysex files? Or maybe a separate program?

There are numerous banks available on the net; they can be loaded & saved either as .wav files (via cassette machine or computer sound card), or as sysex files via the MIDI port.
The best method I've found for loading sysex files is the MIDI-OX program, which is available online as a free download -- if you're going to be using MIDI, it's a VERY useful tool to have (and you can't beat the price).
