Subject: Help Me with malfunction

I just bought a dw8000 and when i power it on the display reads 7a in
the program window and pe in the parameter window, and it is stuck in
that mode. yet if I power it on and hold the bank button down it will
work fine, what is wrong??

Maybe that's "TA  PE",  as in Tape interface is turned on --

You may need to debug it. Carefully open the enclosure and inspect the interior for any signs of insect life. Even if you don't fid any bugs it is a good idea to spray the interior thoroughly with RAID or anything similar under your kitchen sink.
