Don't know if the cable is your problem -- however:
I've repaired several of these, and the first thing I always do is
replace the power jack with a standard, three-prong computer type jack
(available for a couple of bucks at most electronic stores -- not sure if
Rat Shack still carries them). This permanently eliminates the
cord-replacement problem.
If you have any experience with soldering/electronics repair, it's a very
simple procedure; if not, consult someone who knows what they're
doing.
As for other things to look at in your particular case, there is always
the possibility of a dead fuse on the internal fuse board. If you
have to open the unit up anyway, this is something to check (just be sure
to keep track of all those screws -- the DW8000 has more screws than any
other synth I've seen).

I recently purchased a DW8000
for a few hundred $$$ to a private
seller. When I first recieved it a few months ago it worked fine.
After I set it aside for a few weeks to concentrate on some other
projects and now it is simply not working. No power, no display,
nothing. I don't know what the problem is but I'd like to start with
the simplist solution... the power cable. Anyone know where I can
get one? I've tried Radio Shack and they do mot carry any two
pronged cables in that size.
Any suggestions?
