the orginal unit was shipped with a cassette tape and loaded via a player 

but the dw8000 is fully programmable and you can create your own sound. first make one of your individual sound and see if that fixes the problem if not you have an electronic problem that might need to be trouble shot. 

if you do not know how to program you will need a manual it has been too long since i have to change a sound
