DTX 2.0 and choking with MIDI

DTX 2.0 and choking with MIDI

2003-12-19 by okant

I've post this to Yamaha_DTX, maybe you guys know the answer...

I'm trying to record a performance, but crash mutes are not recorded.
That is; while recording, I hit the crash pad, and hold the rim to
mute; while playing the mute works. When I playback the recorded
MIDI, everything is there but mute is not.
Any help?
Thanks

<speculation>
Is it set up to send "key off" or "note off" events? I'm guessing as
I haven't played in the whacky world of MIDI yet, but I imagine that
it would have to send this to work.
</speculation>

Hey, Okant,

I seem to recall from what must be years ago that you play ddrum, or
were you just considering it?

I was considering ddrum but went with DTX2 instead. It's
price/performance ratio was better.

Yeah, I remembered now. It was Yamaha configured not to receive note
off.
Thanks
