2003-11-14 by lil_drummer89

HI, This is my first message. i am new to this yahoo business.
I have got a second hand dtxpress II and it is great, only 1 year
old. love all the messages u guys post. trying to get our heads
round the midi side of things! We are using sonar! we can record the
kit but not play it back through the drum kit. We are getting
the "MIDI BUFFER FULL" error. any ideas on how to fix it! The manual
doesnt seem that good at covering stuff. if any of u have got any
tips that u want to share or anything really please contact me!!!

Hi lil_drummer89,

First of all, congratulations on your new kit. The simplest
explanation of the problem is that you have created a continuous MIDI
circuit between Sonar and the DTXpress. In other words, the MIDI out
from Sonar is going to the DTXpress and then back into Sonar to
repeat the process, thereby overloading the poor little DTXpress'
MIDI buffer. Shut off MIDI thruput on Sonar, or otherwise disable new
information exiting the DTXpress and entering Sonar by setting MIDI
Merge in the DTXpress Utility Menu to "off."
