This number will probably go down by Monday, but what a milestone. I thought we were the donkey's ears when we were at 500, but now not even a half-ton seems far away.

Hi Guys: I just uploaded pictures into Stephanie Ellison under photo albums. The Yamaha DTXpress II e-drums has a mesh snare pad plugged into the 9-10 jack, and I usually stick with my programmed kits. The mesh pad has a double-ply head on it to make it less springy, which really helps. The 3-zone snare that comes with this kit is the left-most rubber pad with the hi-hat pad to the right of it. The hi-hat pad sits an inch above the mesh pad. This is kind of like a kit with a remote hat instead of a traditional hi-hat stand. That hi-hat pad sits WAAAYYY right of the actual hi-hat controller pedal. I intend to eventually replace the 3 right rubber pads, which are toms, with mesh pads that I'll build. Notice in the dtxpress-2-brain picture that the input cables are color- and numerically-coded. I did that by making plastic labels with letters and numbers on them. I not only put them on, I also "soldered" them where the end seams overlap, so they don't come unglued. Stephanie

Well Matey as I used to run a Yahoo forum, which I closed to move onto bigger and better things,I managed to go from 1 member to 934 in less than 6 months, and this was a digital camera group. As the price of the DTXpress seems to be falling, this will appeal to many a drummer who have only dreamed of owning a set of E-Drums,and with a little bit of patientce and maybe abit of promotion we will have over the 1,000 mark on this group before long. (We are over 800 now!!) I just wonder if the prospect of downloading the "Drumb and Dumber" manual was the incentive for joining up?? Stewart reads OGD's post and his shoulders start to droop under the weight of his responsibility. But bracing himself and staring down at his manuscript, he thinks, "I can live up to this challenge. Bring 'em on." (Ed, mimicking Stewart)

Hey Russell, Did you bring any of those other shutter bugs along with you? That's a phenomenal growth rate that your group enjoyed. I figure that considering the relatively small number of drummers, and the even smaller subset of e-drummers, out there in the world, our four-year climb to 800 isn't too shabby either. I think that you're right about us getting to a grand before too long. Ed
