Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Does anyone know where I can buy a DTXTREME module besides ebay?  Or 
is anyone selling one right now?  Also, what do you think it would 
cost me purchase one?  Thanks!!

Hi UNH,

Vendors seem to be running out of them, but I noticed that Midwest 
Percussion is still showing it on their site. Their stated price is 
$850, but they are famous for large discounts, which only show up in 
the shopping cart. You can always empty the cart after you find out. 
It's still not showing up mcuh on ebay. The lowest I've seen for it 
is Riks at $600 or so.

Hi there!  I went thru the same problem when I decided
to dump the Midi Kiti.  I looked all over and could
not find a DTExtreme module that was reasonable. 
Every one I came across was anywhere from 650-800
bucks!!!  And that is for a module that has been
discontinued!!!  I decided to buy another DTXII
module, and it's working out great!!  I will probably
want the "NEW" module that will come out the end of
summer, but right now...I am happy with the DTXII
modules, and will probably stay with the 2 I got,
although I like the smartmedia that comes with the
Extreme module.  I paid less than 400 bucks for a
brand spankin' new second DTX module.
I know Ed at drumbalaya had a floor model Extreme, but
it was way beyond what I wanted to pay, you might
wanna check them out.  I highly suspect that once the
new module comes out, a lot of Extreme modules will
flood ebay and the likes.

I just checked at Midwest--$895 and no discount. Shocking. Back to 
the drawing board.

Marty, on the DTXtreme group, was looking for a
DTXtreme pad set - maybe the two of you could join
forces and buy a kit, with Marty taking the pads and
you getting the module?

Damn those prices are too high for me!  Is it for sure that a "new" 
module is coming out?  Maybe I should just wait for that one?  Is 
the DTX version 2.0 even considerable if I can't find a DTXTREME?

It IS FOR SURE a new module is coming out late summer
(after summer NAMM)  I was told this by Dave Jewell,
Martin and Dave K @ Yamaha

Hey UNH,

I just ran across a store called Same Day Music claiming to sell the 
DTXtreme kit at a very low price (as soon as it is back in stock), 
if you and Marty are still interested in doing a split. Their 
shipping seems very low. I'd never heard of this store before, but

Thanks Ed!  I called the place and they said they sell it for 
$2600.00  How does that sound?  It comes with free two day shipping 
but they cannot give me a definate date on when they'll have them 
in.  I asked if they would even be getting any in because it has 
been discontinued and he said he thinks Yamaha is calculating what 
they have and what they can send samedaymusic.  I have to get back 
with them though to see if they are going to have any.  Could you 
let Marty know the same information?  Thanks man!!

I think the last MF catalog I saw had the kit for either $1899 or
$1999.  You might want to give them a call.
