Connecting the pedal with kickpad

Hi, Yeah, I got my DTX and now I am assembling it together. One problem exist...how can I connect my acoustic drum pedal with the kickpad(using pearl P101p). I have two KP80S pedals and there is small bulge in the place where the pedal must be connected. The bulge is too big for my pedals and pedal doesn't fit trying any possible way. What do you guys recommend to do? Is there some pedals which are designed to play with the DTX? plese help...! Jarmo
