Low Frequency Hum Out Of Module :(

Low Frequency Hum Out Of Module :(

2003-01-25 by Gary <rock_n_4jesus@yahoo.com>

Oh please tell me my module did not just fry! I turned it off and it
was working fine..5 days later and I turn it back on and now I have
got a very low frequency hum coming through the speaker outputs,
including the headphones. And nothing comes out but
very fuzzy output from both Left and Right channels. This is
sickening...I know I didn't do anything except turn it off and on.
Tried different outlet plug ins..hoping that was causing it..but its
definately coming out of the output. Man this stinks........

Check all of your plugs (not the AC wall adapter). Sounds like one of
them is out or not fully inserted into a jack.

I have tried that..right now I have JUST the module plugged in with
nothing plugged into the back of it..and I can insert the headphones
into the jack and it hums in the headphones..and it hums out of both
L/R 1/4" outputs on the back.

It could also be a faulty power supply. If something went south in it's
filtering section (not all that uncommon), it would likely provide the
DTXpress module with voltage that has a lot of 60/120Hz rippple -- thus
causing a constant hum.

THANK YOU THAT FIXED IT MATT!! I am soooooo relieved! I grabbed
another power supply with the same output voltage and 300ma. Works
beautiful! I'm so glad its nothing wrong with it!
