DTX2 on pc

2002-07-28 by moumoucheee

Hello,

im new to this group and a new user of the yamaha dtxpress. Ive just
bought a dtxpress 2, and tried to download some sysex from this
groups to the dtxpress2, it doesnt work. Ok. (ive just seen a message
about the "incompatibility")

But the thing who is boring me, is that when im trying to upload
files from mod to pc with DTXchange : it doesnt work neither. (there
s no message on the dtxpress, just like if it wasnt plug to my pc)
So i just wonder if it is possible to use dtxchange with the
dtxpress2. or maybe (...probably) i missed something in midi setup or
something else.

Hi Moumouche

Giles confirmed in post 2144 that the DTX and the DTXpress use sysex
files that are not compatible with each other.

I found that using the Midi Monitor utility which is available on the
group Files area at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DTXpress/files/Utilities./midim201.zip
to be very helpful when first setting up my PC link.

Check to make sure that you have the midi cable attached to your drum
unit correctly --> IN goes to OUT and OUT goes to IN <--

I also have a DTXpress 2. I am using a joystick cable to my sound
blaster live card. I have tried DTXchange but I have had no response
whatsoever. Let me know if you have any tips. Thanx,

Well after reading prior posts I have solved my problem. My problem
was I had my midi cables crossed. I had In going in and out going
out. This is incorrect. I swapped them and I can send and recieve.
DTXchange works great. I am using XP os. good luck.--- In
