Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

First let me say I was jazzed to find this group!!!!

   I recently purchased a dtxpress floor model for $700.00!
I really like it for the most part. new to e-drums. only thing i 
want to change right off. is the H-hat pedal. I would love to hear 
any suggestions from the group!!!

Hi Todd,

I agree with you, and went with an HH80 for the same
reason, and have been very happy with it.  I am
experimenting with a HAT KAT right now, but so far it
has not worked out.  Walt

You are not going to get acoustic hats with ANY electronic setup. But 
dig into the manual. In the trigger settings, and in the Utility 
section there are parameters for making the hihat respond very closely 
to what you will like.I had the same problem you describe. After 
adjusting all the controls, including some at the pedal itself, It 
works flawlessly for me!
I am very comfortable with it now.
It is about 80% pedal adjustment, and 20% getting used to a different 
type pedal. But there is no reason the hh60 should not perform 
satisfactorily. That goes for all the pads.
