Need advice on how to run live sound. My group has never had
a 'electric' drummer before. What if house provides sound equipt.
located off stage, are there wireless systems for drummers? We have
always had our board close enough that I didnt have to worry about
distance. Would anyone with thoughts on this please reply...We're at a
loss without a clue...dont want to go back to acoustic! Thanks!

You would use a wireless body/belt pack with a 1/4 adapter plugged
into it. It transmits the same as a wireless mic, but instead, you
can connect a guitar, bass, drums or whatever:
Kind of like this:

Here's the 1/4 adapter
http://www.fleetsound.com/catalogue.asp?task=full&ID=999

Here is the transmitter

Please note, I have no affiliation with the company in the links,
they just happen to be a place I'm familiar with.

This is how I do it...I use my own PA set up next to my kit on the
stage. I use a Yamaha EMX66m brick (300watts rms per side)and 2 x cabs
with 12 inch & piezo horns in them. I face one of the cabs at me and
the other to the front. This gives me my own foldback plus my own "FOH"
sound.
If I have to plug into FOH, I just use a DI box (with 2 outputs)
between my module and my PA. One output goes to my PA and the other
goes to FOH. I still get my own foldback from my own cabs.

wow, this is the setup I have - except for I'm using
Yamaha BR-15's, which have 15" woof's and a titanium
driver. Very happy with this setup.
