Hi, I may not be much help, and you may know more than I.
This is all new territory for me, but I had asked a similar question
in the Cubase.net user's forum regarding maps, specifically drum
maps.
I was playing with some drum VSTi's (Virtual Instrument)I found that
the maps, even GM were/are whacked. The same thing when I recorded
my DTXpress as midi.
One thing I did was create my own drum map, reorganizing the list of
drums...ie; kick, snare, etc...In my regular drum edit list, the
kick & snare were labled at the top of the list, however the
recorded midi from my DTXpress kit's kick & snare hits were way at
the botton, further down the several "klank" listings (what ever
THAT's about?)Of course you can save your edited mappings.
Someone else said to try and find drum maps specifically for the
drum module itself, but I haven't explored that yet. But it seems
that this is the way to go. But if you can't find one, you can make
& save them.
Dumb question...You are using midi channel 10 for drums for your
hardware AND software midi channel settings? Well if you're getting
drum sounds, then I guess you are.
If you haven't already, you may want to ask this question in a Pro
Tools, or Sonar user group forum...?
Good luck :)
