kp 65 problems?

2005-02-10 by drummerone13

Is there any problems with this model, as there were with kp60?
cutting out etc.. I want to get the double bass kp65! Or, a double
bass pedal other than the yamaha... I,ve got to get rid of this single
kp60. I,m having the problems that I ,ve read about in past post,s....
And since I really need a double bass, I don,t want to open up the
kp60. I thank you in advance for any info. john

Hi John, and welcome. You've been loyal to the KP-60 long enough.
Thankfully, the 65 version doesn't seem to suffer the same problems
as its predecessor. However, it has a couple of its own--namely
rubber and foam that are subject to deterioration before their time.
Reinforcing the surface with a rubber pad or a bass drum patch can
help prevent early problems. Most of the kick drum pads from other
companies are large and dependable (though not all of the mesh ones
will thrive with the DTXpress), but if you want to leave Yamaha and
stay rubber, check out the rarely mentioned DrumTech Kick Pad. It's
big, extraordinarily sturdy and strong, and compatible with the
DTXpress. Drumbalaya sells it.
