Nu-B, looking for advice on buying a DTXPRESS

Nu-B, looking for advice on buying a DTXPRESS

2004-09-23 by lazylightnin2001

I have never drummed before(-besides enjoying the arcade digital kit
to Rock'n Me!) and was wondering if $400 for a DTXPRESS(I) kit with a
pedal is a good deal. It's used, but barely used and wired by a
pro. I see the new ones(III) are around $1000, but I wouldn't want
to pay that since it'll mostly be a toy to go with my bass for now.
Thanks for the advice.

That sounds like a great deal for me, I would jump on it asap.

Cort,

Welcome to the group. I agree with Anthony. If you're sure that the
kit is in good working, it's a steal. You might be pleasantly
surprised about what your new toy can do. Congratulations.

I paid $750 for my DTX I (almost new) about 6 months ago and at that time thought it was a good deal.

BTW it came with a pedal, throne, and a pair of sticks.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Just picked this up today, got
it all set-up and just played for about an hour. Loved it, especially
the pre-set songs.

Oh and I didn't mean to belittle it by using the term 'toy'!

Back to play with it now, will probably have a few questions after
digging through the manual.

Thanks again.

No apology necessary for the description. If males can answer to the
term "boy toy"--sometimes willingly--a DTXpress should be able to
handle it. The real question is, will you continue to think of it as
a toy when it starts resisting your advances and demands that you
respect it for its brain? We'll be here when you two need mediation.
