New Windows DTX Wizard software available

New Windows DTX Wizard software available

2004-08-11 by custom_elect

Having been frustrated by the lack of easy to use PC software for
managing our DTXpressII, we have written this wizard which allows you
to:
1. Backup all/any data from your DTXpress to your PC (including all
Kits/Songs/System data)
2. Restore all/any data for your PC to your DTXpress
3. Record midi files on your PC of your live drumming
4. Record PC midi files into your DTXpress user songs

So come-on all you Beta testers out there - give it a bashing and
send us some feedback to support@....
(We also want to know if it works with the DTX3)

Thanks, guys (Roger?). Roger, are you a musician? You've said before
that you aren't a drummer. Out of curiosity, what's your personal use
for the DTXpress?

Would beta testers be so kind as to report their findings to the
board as well?

Ed

after installing it appears to be a 7 day trial.....my first day in
trying it, only made some uploads en downloads, seem to work fine.
However if they are gonna charge money for it..... Too me it doesn't
really seem to be worth any money

I couldn't agree more. Indeed, the program works, in an easy and
userfriendly way, but I would not pay for it since de DTXchange
program from http://www.dtxpressions.com/ does the job also.

Hi Ed
Yes its me Roger. - Im a rock band guitarist gigging from 68-75,
then developed electronics for recording etc.. Started to slow down
at 50 now - so convinced mt partners we should build a small stuio
in the company. - As you know live drums are time comsuming and
difficult to record well, so we also bought a DTXpressII second
hand - and its pretty impressive.

But I also needed to put in patterns from our old drum machine, and
not being a drummer, found there was a neeed for simple software to
manage the user-song areas. Hence the software.

The 'give us some drumming in return for a licence' - seemed to be a
cute way of me replacing my bad drum patterns on some of my own
recordings with some good stuff from guys like you.

Had a chance to play with it yet?

Hi
A full licence is FREE if you just give us a bit of drumming, in
return for the 8 days software engineering it took us.
See the readme.txt and let me know wheat you think.

Hi Stef

DTXChange only transfers drumkits - if you want to manage the
USerSong library in the DTXpress this is the ONLY software we know
of that will do it. - It also looks after automatic recoring of
patterns into it with syncronisation such that 1 measure patterns
can be looped.

The software is FREE if you are a drummer who wants it and are not
shy.

Roger

Roger,

So, another guitarist in sheep's clothing--first taking advantage of
MIDI to disguise your identity and now expecting good-hearted real
drummers to do your dirty work for you? Do you think that old age is
a good excuse? :-) Just kidding, I entered the rolls 53 years ago,
and started playing drums before an unsuspecting public in 1964
(luckily, everyone was too young to take much notice). I can only
wish you the best of luck, and urge members willing and able to give
the software a try and report on it for the rest of us. Seems like a
fair exchange to me. Alas, I must abstain, not being a user of the
DTXpress.

I will, later.
The program is indeed better then I thought at a first glance...
