Nick, I actually just went through the exercise considering to buy a bell pad on top of the PCY-65S or to go for the new PCY-150S. I finally decided to purchase the latter. Why? - As the cup part of the PCY-150S is made out of relatively thick and solid rubber and because the normal Yamaha bell pad is mounted on top of the cymbal holder (leaving some room for the bell to swing) the 150 bounces better - Running a DTXP-III module you can take advantage of all the 3-zone capabilities including the choking effect (input 6 - "ride") - Buying the PCY-150S obviously leaves you with a spare PCY-65S which I decided to use instead a TP-65 as the hi-hat. I like the "hi-hat" to swing a bit rather than sitting with a stiff pad to my left At the end of the day - being honest with myself - I also think the PCY-150S simply looks cooler ... It's just doesn't bounce too well. Can a II or III owner > please tell me what it's like riding the bell part of those new 3- > zone cymbals? Does it respond to fast playing?
