There seems to be renewed interest in the excellent pads from the first DTXtreme kit, but they have been almost impossible to find since the DTXTI's demise. No more, at least for a limited time. Ed Morin tells me that Drumbalaya now has "a TON of DTXTREME-I pads we purchased Yamaha's ENTIRE obsolete inventory as well as ALL their B/C stock items they had accumulated over the course of several years. Much of it is in our Bargain Basement, but the stuff that may be of particular interest to you and other DTX enthusiasts are the RHP80, RHP120SD and KP120. The hot ticket is to take a DTXPRESS-III Special Edition kit and swap all the pads out for the DTXTREME-I pads using RHP80's for toms and, of course, the RHP120SD for snare and KP120 for kick. With the new cymbals, it's a hot setup AND the new DTXPRESS- III module has support for the RHP pad types!! Amazing." As the song goes, "If I were a rich man . . . ." I wish I didn't need every scrap of cash right now to build an addition to my house (including a little e-drum studio). Otherwise I'd be gobbling up some of these babies right away. Get'em while they're hot. EdF
