Sysex is basically the operating system and associated data. It is 
pretty much self-contained, allowing you only to down- and upload 
information in its own format--that is, kits and their parameters--so 
long as you have the room.

No. This is a rare privilege thus far; very few of the existing 
modules allow anything remotely, or efficiently, like this 
capability. Ddrum 4 allows it under certain conditions, but it 
doesn't have much memory for reconstituted samples. The upcoming 
DTXTIIS will probably be the best bet for that feature.
