I have two drum sets - A vintage (1970's) Ludwig acoustic set and a DTX 1 set (with a Yamaha chain drive pedal on the kick.) I often find that to get the right amount of control on the DTX hi hat pedal, I need to take my shoes off. I carry a pair of old house slippers with the DTX set for that reason. I seem to recall a couple of years back here on the list that there was some similar discussion. Otherwise, for both sets it depends on what shoes I'm wearing. I find that dress shoes often don't have enough flex in the sole to give me the control I want. (We all know that we are ** supposed ** to be working the pedals off the ball of the foot right? (And not be playing flat footed... Like I do most of the time :-)) --- tom > -----Original Message----- > From: Rob [mailto:robarrie2003@...] > Sent: Tuesday, February 10, 2004 1:41 AM > To: DTXpress@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [DTXpress] Who goes barefoot > > > I have had my kit for a few months now, it seems I can work the pedal > more precise and rapidly in my socks, shoes on feels like bricks > between the pedals.
