Jeffrey, I fully agree with Stephen...the CK-V is totally compatable with the DTXP, super easy to tweak to your preference and gives you a lot more real estate to work with for double pedals than the stock Yamaha. Although the version I have is probably the same as Stephen's...two large BD like spurs to stabilize the back (newer ones have a solid backplate) it's still a stable set-up even if your a pounder....BTW...I got mine at a great price as an "non factory sealed" purchase from American Musical Supply...shop around...you'll find one on ebay etc if you don't want to go retail...
