Replaced Kick Trigger on 'original' DTXpress 1, now...

2003-08-24 by zapaxe

Hello,

Now the A/B switch (I can swear) is reversed! As I sit at the set, I
reached over behind the kick and swithed it to the left to make less
louder. Now it's the opposite...?

I changed the kick trigger because it was skipping some hits here &
there. I bought them from a Yamaha dealer of parts. I was directed
to them by Musician's Friend (Where I bought the kit from).

Now I seem to be skipping kick hits less often, but I'm STILL mis-
triggering!
Before I changed the trigger (which was a little bit thicker than
the original...?)I thought I might have an A/B switch problem on my
kick controller. I thought this because whenever I reached down to
hold the A/B switch, I had less mis-triggering. But the I thought it
may be by chance. So since I had two new spare kick triggers I'd
give this a try.

Now I'll have to try & replace my A/B switch to see if mis-
triggering can be totally eliminated.

Anyone else have these problems with either bad triggering or A/B
swith gone bad due to vibrations?

I was thinking about installing a new A/B swith remotely located
from the kick to avoid future vibration problems.

Thanks, Steve
