Hi Pete

The moderators are able to change the text in the various messages of 
the board. The Welcome messages actually prompts you to enter text or 
HTML code. Vern added a simple line to the messages in this form:

<img src="http://www.blah.com/cgi-bin/counter.phtml?UID=1000" width=90
height=20>

There are a number of places on the internet that you can get "free 
counters". Your isp may also offer you the service.
