Billy, All of the trigger settings can be altered. I don't know exactly how far into the presets you've ventured, so I'll just ramble. The defaults in the trigger menu are ballparks for the pads supplied with the kit (the specific rejection setting between the snare and hi hat from the factory may be faulty. If you notice a problem when you hit the snare and hi hat simultaneously, we'll help you fix it). If you don't mind my saying so, however, I wouldn't stray too far from the default gain, min. velocity, and rejection numbers in the trigger menu until you're more familiar with what the parameters are meant to accomplish. If you get all bottled up and in a tizzy this early, you may have to do a factory reset later to get back some semblance of order, and unless you've backed up your user kits elsewhere, you'll lose them all. But, that said, there is a list of global trigger settings that affect how all of the pads will respond. The kit comes set to "Medium"; at least it did a few years ago. Check the manual for what the various options do; they all have strengths and sacrifices. You can also customize the global trigger settings, but I wouldn't yet. Also, the back of the module has six DIP switches, corresponding to inputs 1-6. Flipping them up will make the module more sensitive. I have found that this tactic is absolutely essential for mesh head pads and most of the e-cymbals, like the Visu-lites, that I favor. I don't know if it will have the effect that you want with gum-rubber pads. You'll have to experiment. Keep digging and ask specific questions as they arise. You're definitely exhibiting the signs of early e-drum mania. Don't forget to eat and drink; you'll need the stamina. Ed
