FYI Zilla has covered some of the same ground as we did to locate Chris Thackston through the band Black Root Ensemble, which has an old email address at AOL. Maybe he'll get lucky. At the risk of getting Vern mad, OGD brings up a good point. First of all, however, I, for one, prefer the mechanics of Vern's site over this one, and the prospect of relocating to it is by no means unpleasant or, on a level playing field, disadvantageous. But, as I've said before, I worry about the loss of members, even if they aren't all active. The number 729 looks very good to those who may be inclined to look us up in the directory for one reason or another or to those whom we wish to enlist in our corner. It took nearly three years to reach this peak, and given the nature of many joiners, the small effort that it takes to go elsewhere and get settled may be just enough to take a toll on it. The question is, Does anyone feel the same way, or am I just being too skittish? I really don't know. And apart from the question of whether a large percentage of members are either ready now or amenable if necessary to sign up at DTXpressions, my hopes for what this group might be able to accomplish may not mean much to the vast majority. > Why not let the one problem eliminate the other problem? Our reaction to this strategy depends, at least in part, on what is decided above. But if we resign to stay here for the time being, I think the idea is worth more than just rant and rave status.
