It means that both voice layers are used for that voice. When 
setting up a voice, you can use two voices for each pad sound. Look 
in the top right, where it says "V=1" or "V=2". To change to the 
other voice, use the "sel" buttons to move the flashing cursor to 
the number after "V=" and the use "-/+" to change it. You may find 
you have a higher pitched sound on the other voice for that pad.
