I think there's at least one other option, which is to use a "stacker" - an extension to the tilter that allows a second cymbal to be added above the first. It may also be that something like an Aquarian cymbal spring might help. It doesn't go between the cymbals, but underneath the main one it may "loosen up" the overall mount so it's less rigid and your bell strike is less likely to trigger the main pad. I'm also sure that with a little ingenuity, it would be possible to home-make a tilter extender. An 8mm bolt- coupler, and an 8mm headless bolt should do it. You'd need to find a plastic or rubber sleeve for the extension, and some extra felts. Stewart
