UN.H Crosstalk is when you strike one pad, and another pad also triggers. This is ussually from the vibration thru the rack. Double triggers occur when one pad is struck, and its own vibration causes it to trigger again. This is hardly a problem with rubber pads, but was hell when triggering acoustic drums. Your pm-16/dtxpress problem is crosstalk. Moving pad attachment points may help. I Think it will always be a potential problem when using two modules or a trigger interface.
