Hi John
You're the first chap to post to the list for AGES! I
thought everyone had died!

First thing. Read thru the archives on the list.
You'll find everything you'll need to know.
If you don't have time to do that - then you might
consider this quick "summary" of the DTXpress:

Pros
Excellent value for money.
Lots of good quality sounds, able to play 2 sounds
simultaneously on each pad.
Can record your playing.
Can make your own "user kits" and email them to
friends.
Versatile hardware. Easy to transport. Looks nice.

Cons
Kick pedal can be noisy.
Pads a bit on the small side (not bad though) and
mono.
Some limitations in programmability and functionality,
but then, we're not talking V-Drums here...

All in all, I would say the DTXpress is an excellent
e-kit to start off with. Sure, there are better out
there but at this price, there is simply nothing to
touch it. Just plug it in and go.

Try and get a demo organised at your local music shop
- I sat in the shop window every day for a week during
my lunch hour before I finally put plastic to palm.
