Re: [DTXpress] Connecting the pedal with kickpad

2000-03-20 by AARON M CRIM

Jarmo (and anyone else having trouble with Pearl pedals on the DTXpress
kick tower):
I had the exact same problem. I eventually solved through trial and
error with none other than magical duct tape! Here's what you do: 1)
forget the hump 2) start cutting multiple pieces of duct tape that are
the same size off the roll--they should be just big enough to fit in
front of the hump, but not big enough to hang over the edge of the black
metal plate--and they should be the approx. width of your pedals clamp
mechanism 3) begin sticking the all pieces of tape together, one directly
on top of the other, until you have what appears to be a small
rectangular block of tape assembled--thick enough to let your pedal grip
the tower without moving around (1/4" or so) 4) butt your pedal up to
your kick tower and align it where you like it to be relative to the
rubber pad 5) with a pencil or something of the like, mark off on the
black plate the outside edges of your pedal's clamp so you'll know where
to put the tape--this way your pedal will be perfectly aligned each time
you go to attach it 6) if needed, cut the tape block to fit the size you
marked on the plate 7)affix the block of tape you have assembled onto the
black plate just in front of the hump and centered with your pencil marks
8) clamp your pedal on so it connects with the tape instead of the hump
9) start swingin'
