Re: almost bought but not quite ...

Darren I would definately not judge the DTXpress on what you heard
or played with at that store. First of all you only saw a small
percentage of what the DTXpress does and how it sounds. Its true
that some sounds aren't too good on the module, but its also true
that many more sounds REALLY make up for it! And if you aren't
happy with what your hearing, hey, you can make them sound the way
you want, which comes in really handy!! I'm willing to bet that
module has been messed with by everyone, even non-drummers just to
see what it is. I went into my music store without ever hearing an
edrum and played with it for 15 mins and I was pretty content with
it and bought one. It wasn't till after I got home that I realized
I had bought a whole lot more! I LOVE the set and am so glad I
purchased it! If the majority of the sounds sounded like rubbish I
wouldn't have bought it or I would have returned it. I got to play
with a fresh module out of the box so I think that made a big
difference in what I played with. Also consider what Ed said. What
you hear the audio through makes a HUGE difference. You have to
tweak some stuff to make it sound just right and I'm not sure if
that music store put that much effort into it you know? I'd say go
back, grab an employee and ask him some stuff about the setup. Just
give it another shot because I get the vibe you got a very false
first impression.
