Thanks to the inspiration of Gary in post 3042, and his
informative web site ( http://oneaccord.homestead.com ),
I was inspired to build my own pad. I had wanted a pad
to use as a cowbell/woodblock. I researched DIY eDrums
and found http://edrum.for.free.fr/index.php to be very
helpful.
On this web site there is a simple plan by Michael
Beatnik called "Mini Trigger". I don't want to copy his
plan here without permission but you will be stunned,
as I was, at how cheap and simple it is to make using
just the following from Radio Shack:
1- piezo transducer part #273-073
1- 1/4" phone jack (mono) part #274-252
1- project enclosure 3x2x1 part #270-1801
double sided foam tape or hot glue
1- 2x3 inch piece of rubber from a mouse mat
It cost me less than 8 Australian dollars, which is less
than US$4, and it took me less than an hour to do it.
It works perfectly.
