Hi Brian,

Does it happen on the Yamaha kits, or just on the user kits? Maybe 
you have the sounds programmed in reverse. Start with one of the 
default kits.  Put your foot on the pedal, hit the pad, and find a 
closed hh voice at the back of the manual that you like. Then 
release your foot, hit the pad, and find an open voice to go with 
it. If the hh works as expected, then nothing is wrong with the 
controller. But if the voices are reversed on the default as well as 
user kits, then the problem is going to require more thought. Most 
likely, the signals are getting crossed somehow in the unit. Let us 
know.
