Well, through MIDI you should be able to hook the DTXPress up to any other MIDI device you want. You can't flash the DTXPress' sounds or upgrade them in any way. I really think the built-in sounds are quite nice themselves... Especially when layered. However, sometimes just for fun I hook it up through MIDI to my Korg Triton and set it on a drum kit. The Triton's drum sounds are very realistic, and it's fun to play with. You'll probably have to map the notes for each trigger in the DTXPress to get the desired sounds. You should also be able to hook it up to your computer and using some type of drum software and play downloaded drum samples through your computer. There's also this link that was posted yesterday: http://www.thehearns.fsnet.co.uk/dtxpressions/ That site has a collection of SysEx files to send new programs to the DTXPress. I think you'll enjoy playing around with them. It will give you an idea of what all your DTXPress is capable of. Hi, 1st post here... I was wondering, is there a way to add new & better drum samples to the DTXpress kit's brain? The brain has 16 bit samples, is that all I can get even if I can add more sounds? I was checking out some of those drum CD sampler's which have much better sounding drum samples & higher sample rates. Is it possible to load these new samples into the DTX's brain? Or is it possible to utilize these samples with my DTXpress kit at all? I was hoping that at least, I can record midi into my Cubase VST program using my DTX's kit, then have these CD drum sample with much better drum samples play back instead of my own kit's sounds? This is possible correct? Are there any other options here that I'm missing to get my DTX kit to add/play more sounds & better drum sample sounds?
