That seems a couple hundred dollars too much for a used kit, especially with the 2nd version out now. As far as jazz goes you need to sit down at the kit and fiddle with it to make your decision. It is a pretty sensitive drumkit but the thing is its electric, not acoustic. Its a different feel all together, you need to sit down at the kit and see if it suits you taste at all, you may love it or hate it. That's my best advice. i hope this helps. -Joe P.S.
